mum n dad bought a tv bout 4 years ago from comet costin 850quid...they took out extended warranty n lucky we did cos we have had to call repair guys out 5 times in 4 years for various things goin wrong, well last week they wrote our TV off as non repairable
as it was insured they have to offer us a new tv, the one they have offered is worth 250 WTF that cant be right surely?

I wouldnt reccomend comet or currys to buy anything from, both theiving fuckers! Currys robbed us over our pc and then comet fucked up about with our laptop, said they would fix it within 10 days took 2 months

It'll be an equivalent spec TV, so it'll cost much less nowadays.

i think youll find there right, as your tv was at a guess possibly flatscreen with nicam sound.
So they will offer you a model with that same specification now
i worked in a regional electrical place which specialised in tvs, home cinema etc.
We had a a new for old policy where if it cost you £1000 you would get a £1000 tv 3 years later etc etc
one of the reasons we were so popular with our warranties. Currys and comet, powerhouse wont give you anything so hardly worth trying

Well, the TV they should give you back is the same tv or closest match.
If the TV you have now cost £50 then you get a TV worth £50.
Id be sure to compare them both etc, size, resolution etc.
If its all same (or better), you've got nothing to complain about?

look up the sole trade descriptions act on the net you should be able to get a replacement to the value of your old TV ! regardless of warranty.
Our printer went wrong after 3 years and we only had the standard warranty, they still gave us our money back.
