you can do all the usual,exhaust,decat pipe,filter,

why not buy a sport instead????? there not as dear as you'd think to insure

a 1.4 then, i had an sri 16v when i was 17 and learning to drive! Quite a straight forward conversion, and plenty of engines availablie with so many people doing 2L conversions

You opened yourself up for it really, its been posted 1000's of times. In reality there is very little that can be done to make it quicker. You were given the best advice at the start, save up for a 2.0L and the associated insurance costs.

That is the only way!

Is it a 16v or 8v? Put small wheels on, strip it .. air filter, magnex.. and u might see a 1sec dif to 60.. other than that buy a quicker car... like everyone else says

They are painfully slow.. i had 1

If you can just chill out for a bit make it look and sound nice and just cruise everywhere then in a few years buy somethin quicker... or put a 2.0L in.. Or just change to something like a punto sporting 1.2 16V and your 0-60 will go from 18 to 10..! Depends what u wanna do... but there is fcuk all tuning for the 1.2 8v it will never be a quick car...
