Right I'm needing on to build up some credit history.
Idea is to use it for my petrol ever week, then pay for it straight away when bill comes in (end of the month?)
Which would be best to go for, as I've no idea when it comes to them.

If your going to 'use' it Go for one with like 6mnths 0% interest then keep changing every time the free interest runs out and having the balance transfered onto a new card with a new deal

Can you use your current bank account to direct debit it?
So say I use £100 on petrol this month.
1st March comes and it takes the £100 out of my Current Account at the bank
That make sense?

Every month you get sent a balance of what you owe with payment options - either minimum amount or whatever you want to pay.

No they have your bank details when you apply
If your not planning to use it 'use it ' then just get whatever your bank offers you - otherwise go with egg or such like with 9months 0%apr and max it out then just pay the minimum until times up and transfer balance to another card!

Last year my bank gave me a Visa card with £2k limit and I wasn't even working. Might have had something to do with the fact that I had nearly £10k in my current account at the time though!
