Just thought i would leave a thread, i noticed just now on the ICAO Mercator charts that a REALLY nasty cold front is heading for the UK, from the continent, it might not get colder than it is now, but there is a fair bit of moisture, so expect really heavy snow falls on Thursday. Take care on the roads too, temperatures will drop real quickly and ice will form over compacted snow easily.

Coming straight from scandinavia, like i said, it wont be too cold, but there is a lot of moisture, and perfect conditions for snow forming cumulo clouds

yeah, met office are downplaying this too, to stop what happened 2 years ago in the SE, when everyone was stuck on the roads overnight (including myself). north east can expect a hell of a lot of snow, looking at at least a foot, although its too early to say what the effect will be once its reached the british isles
