Its not my iPOD or computer. Im not impressed by i{PODs and i wouldnt have such a turd computer!

Its a mates old win 98 machine (all he can afford) XP will turn it into a very slow moving thing.

There are 3rd party drivers and software but am having difficulty tracking them down (for free!) and yes USB

he already said it wasnt his!

but i would hunt out a copy of 98SE tbh - its the only windows os that supports USB out of the box and without loads of fannying around etc etc But even then i doubt you will get iTunes or anything working with it - although theres is music match jukebox that supports ipod, and plugins for winamp etc

PMSL at stable and 98se in the same sentence 98se is full of security holes and flaws, not to mention the dodgy scripts, BSOD is frequent, unlike XP Pro, where i havent suffered a major crash since i got it ages ago.
98se basic IPSEC services leave a lot to be desired, as well as the SSDP service, about as safe as walking into an active volcano.

tbh, xp is just as bad - it handles desktop stuff, but as soon as you want to use it for something propper like music production with DAW cards and DSP cards its cack - i get errors popping up atleast once a day, usually that explorer.exe has fooked up

tbh, 2000 is the only windows OS ive had that was 95% stable and i never had any real problems with it - shame that i cant get drivers for some of my gear

Sorry just checked the booklet, it's Windows 2000 with Service pack 4 or later, or Windows XP
