Because I want the power of it. and I cannot find anything else which is a hatchback and matches it for insurance and performance.

The Corsa GSi is group 12 to Start with.
The VTR is only 7. Nothing can touch it in the insurance bracket.

Yep i cant stand em either.
But for the TOTAL all round package of insurance costs, running costs etc... nothing can touch it.
Even the Nova GSi is group 11.
but the VTS is grps 14! work that out.

zetec s perforance is roughly the same as the vtr with roughly the same insurance group.
I would prefer a zetec s, less common better looking but the interior is dreadful, i prefer the phase 1 to 2

Yep but the difference in insurance groups is actually DOUBLE.
Grp 7 - VTR 1.6 8v
Grp 14 - VTS 1.6 16v
Only difference is 20bhp.
I suppose "nickability" comes into it as well.

I drive a 106 gti - made in the same factory, by the same people, with the same bits - but I still hate Saxo's and the people who drive them.
106 gti's are rarer than saxo's and styled nicer in my opinion and generally not driven by as many chavs as saxo's.

i'd rather have to saxo the Zetec S is well lethargic.
My bro just picked up a black 02 VTR with 18K miles for 3.5K drove it for a few days and it feels quite pokey for what it is. Interior and quality is suspect but if you want a cheap run around thats a bargain im both the performance and money stakes you cant go far wrong.

zetec-s:
The hottest Fiesta will bow out shortly before a new three-door arrives later in 2002, so you can still bag one. And there's lots of good reasons to do just that. The Zetec S is immensely enjoyable to drive, with one of the best supermini chassis around. Apart from fab steering and rally-style lift-off oversteer on demand, you get an engine that's revvy and keen, and, although outright speed isn't great, there's fun aplenty in the bends. Of course, it looks dated and the cabin is cramped, but you can't have everything - well, not 'til the new model arrives.

Just been to see it.
Feels a lot smaller than my old corsa but it quite fast, had a quick go on the by pass in it
Its in very good condition and the bird who owns it seems to have taken care of it, also shes pretty fit
Just been ringin up about insurance I can get insured TPFT for £1150 and got my mate to ring up with nearly same info for a quote on my old 1.2 sxi and that was £970.
For the money Ill defo be gettina saxo despite the fact that I do not like em that much and think most drivers of saxo's are chav asss--hoooles

Book figures. I've seen many go on the rollers and they all produced more than 110bhp. Some with exhaust and filters that produced upto 118bhp too.
