Anyone else having problems receiving sms on these phones? I hadn't had a txt for a few weeks and thought I had no friends but now I've had people ringing up wanting to know why I haven't been texting back.

I got 6 through in one go this aft (first in weeks) but there are still a few missing somewhere.

I bought it from O2 online

Didn't see the Watchdog thing, prob just go into local o2 shop and kick up a fuss, see what happens. At least I know its a fault now and not just some settings though, cheers.

Don't kick up a fuss or they will just tell you to GTF

If you start been arsey then your not gonna get helped! Explain to them your having probs & they will either offer to repair yours, exchange it for another K700 or offer an alternative of a similar spec (eg- nokia 6230)

Its a problem that has only just come to light so there isn't many details about it at the mo. Sony Ericsson will probably issue a recall & you will be able to tell if yours is faulty by looking up your imei number

They aren't selling K700's anymore so the problem must be pretty serious at the moment.

I'm not going to accept a 6230, if I wanted one of those I would have bought one in the first place.

Samsung E800 about similar price?

E800 is shite imo

Dont expect them to just bow at you feet & do as you say. If its a fault with the handset it might be just sent away & repaired as the manufactures warrenty states

There are other phones available. It may still be a problem with o2 as the K700 is fine on all the other networks. 6230 is quite good

There doesn't seem to be many other options on O2, I want a decent camera, bluetooth and reasonably sturdy (not flip).

Doubt I'll get that in a swap, you have to pay for it on contract.

Just found out e800 isn't bluetooth either.

To me though O2 should go out of their way to help, my phone is used a lot for business and it isn't acceptable for them to just send it away, they are quite happy to take the monthly payments off me, despite not providing a proper service for the last 3 weeks and not informing me of a possible problem. It wasn't until someone rang me that I realised what was happening.
I have 2 relatively high use contracts with them, wonder if they will be more willing to help if I ask to cancel them?

your contracted for your line rental not your equipment so this probably wouldn't make any differance to your complaint. Also if you cancel you would have to make the rest of the monthly payments in 1 lump sum. Or you could just stop the direct debit @ your bank & you would probably get blacklisted for future credit checks.

You may well use it for work but as it is not set up as a business account you can't really use this to help fight your argument.

I know it seems like shit service from o2 but the bottom line is that it is a manufacturers warrenty & not a network warrenty. Anything o2 do to help you is a bonus. I know for a fact that Link stores are offering an exchange for all affected handsets

Happens daily on my S700i on T-Mobile. I know if it's playing up because i don't get delivery reports. If i tuen my phone off and on again it usually kick starts it within 30 mins or so and i get a load of txts through.
