Right, This is regarding my impreza. Traded the cupra in for the scooby which came from a dealer in huddersfield. When I say dealer its some guy who imports various jap cars and sells them, anyhow he requested that the Red dealer part be signed on the V5.
He advertised and sold the impreza to me as a 2000 model Impreza STi v5. However it had a version 4 spoiler, aftermarket front bumper so could not tell if it was a 4 or a 5. Looking through his old posts on scooby net i can see his previous attempts at selling it. Originally he advertised it as an Version 6, then advertised it as a 1998 version 4. Finally selling it as a 2000 version 5.
on the registration document it says first registered in japan in 2000, then registered here in 2004. But im fairly sure its a version 4 and definately a 98 model and not a 2000.
From a legal standpoint what can i do? advise please?
Any p1ss taking comments, pls try keep to yourself, you wont be helping if you post them here.
Fank joo.

If you can prove it's a version 4 98 model and he sold it to you as a version 5 2000 model thats false advertisement, if you can prove these matters.
maybe check the chassis number with subaru or something.
i think you can take legal action or consult compensation.

Marc there is an STi sticker in front of the gear lever with a number on it will that help? Also where is engine number? on the silver vin plate on the strut?
If it does prove to be a 98 version 4, anything i can do legally? straight away we are looking at 2-2.5k difference in value!

Mmm not sure mate thats a tough one I clocked the Pre facelift spoiler and bumper on yours and thought it looked suspicious! Is he well known on SN? Maybe post on there to warn people about him and that but aside's that im not sure what else. Apart from that is the car good body/engine?
Id have a word with him about it but im guessing you probably already have.

Well the sticker infront of the gear lever is one hint, but could be changed i suppose. Yeah i think the engine number is on the left strut.
