Today i found out the my engine had blown.Im not good with engines, infact im pretty usless....ive just been down to the guys place whos got the engine stripped and hes shown me what has gone.

again, sorry if i sound like a dumb twat...but the rings on the left...with the big holes....one of them has completely fractured...in other words its wankered...bummed...shagged etc....also another 1 is buggered but not as bad.He says it will cost me £500...more than a new 1.2 8v engine (£350 with fitting).

I aint got £350, neither can i get it soon...so i was wondering if anyone else would like to buy the car (with shagged engine)....but....how much would/should i get?

I was thinking tht £700 is about right, the car is a 1995 n reg...new engine wouldent cost more than £400...even less if the buyer can fit an engine (think its a simple job not sure) for less than a grand, a low milage engine and a lovely shell.

What do you guys think? How much is it worth?

just keep the car, save up some cash, and but a 1400 16V.
and while your at it stick some 2.0L brakes on it. (used calipers and brand new disks and pads will cost about £50)

thats what i did i killed two 1.0L 12V's, so decided to get a 1400 instead.
