The space bar is located right at the bottom of the keyboard, centred on the main body of keys. You seem to be mistaking it for the full stop or "period" key, just above and to the right

Well for starters the GT TDI is a 2L, not a 1.9, and it's specs are...

2.0 TDI (140bhp, 236lb ft, 126mph, 0-60 in 9.3 seconds)

It's a heavy car but nice and torquey. You should have killed it up to 60 but motorway speeds the XE doesn't really pack any real punch imo (from driving mine lol)...

might have the model number wrong, he told me it was the 130 brake model. He was right on my ass all the way up to about 70, i thought i was pulling away but he said he was easing off (not sure though ) My car is nippy, but it doesnt seem to go as well as it did. Gonna get a decent exhaust, fit the enlarged throttle body that i bought last week and get it on a RR i think!

Oh ok well that's even worse. The 130 bhp model is like 11 seconds to 60 or something IIRC

...I assume you were taking yours right to the limit? All I can really suggest is get it on an RR as there's gotta be something really wrong to be doing 11 seconds to 60

11 seconds?! I changed spark plugs, gonna do leads too, got a new knock sensor (already fitted one new one but ECU was reading a fault still, havent got diag equipment so not sure if it still is) Got oil and filter to change asap too. What other bits do you reckon are worth looking at? Fuel filter? He's the guy ive posted about before who is unbelieveably competitive, and annoyingly so I wanna wipe the grin back off his face

Just general service items really (buy a Haynes manual)...

You can read the fault code yourself using the paperclip method... If the engine management light is on the ECU runs in a safe mode (someone correct me if I'm chatting shit -- I just seem to remember someone else saying this a while ago).

This may be responsible for a huge drop in power...

i havent got a light in mine, but i used to be able to feel it cut in. Havent felt that recently, but maybe its just permanently in safe mode Ah well, least i know my car should be a lot quicker than his, i got even more incentive to fix it now I got the haynes so should be able to do most of it myself, its just finding the time.

Um you might wanna check those stats I posted...

I read the word 'new' and thought Mk5 golf, not Mk4... I'm assuming there won't be much in it though...

well as far as im aware the only td in the mk5 is the 2.0 fsi, so i would say its the 130 as the new ones arent spec'ed on output
