Just thought i should say hello to everyone, i am 18 and currently drive a vauxhall mk3 astra, but looking at geting a corsa in the near future. Hopefully in caribric blue, as i think its a mint colour when you get the bumpers etc colour coded.

Couple of questions:-
Are the "hi-torque" 1.4 spi corsas worth avoiding, i have this engine in my astra and its really pants.
Is it worth getting a 16v SRi rather than the 8v SRi. Looking towards 16v as they are same insurance as my astra and yet 90bhp compared to my 60bhp.
And finally which would you rate better, 16v Sport or 16v SRi
Cheers

Welcome mate
She SRi 8v will still be loads quicker than the engine you have as its multi point injection, i have the same astra as you by the sounds of it as a run about and i notice the diff between that and me sri 8v.

Your more likely to find a sport 16v than the sri 16v

What colour is aurora purple, and don't say purple, lol,
any pics?
The trouble with a sport is that they are newer and so more expensive to buy in the first place. I don't think i can go with a gsi as yeah i am 18 but with no NCBs, my current car costs £1200 TPFT now and thats only group 6.
What is an 8v SRI bhp, about 80ish?
Thanks for replies

Yeah the 8v will seems miles quicker as it is more bhp, 20ish more, and corsa is a lot lighter.
And with amp and sub etc in my car it is even slower, with 3 people in it strugles to pull off, especially on slight hills

there is hardly anything between the 8v and 16v...
16v SRi and a 16v sport share the same engine...

OK, so really there ain't much point going for the 16v, over a cheaper 8v, both cheaper to buy and insure.
But i have heard that the 16v sound mint with a decent filter and zaust.

So is that why they are more expensive to buy.
OK so i will lookout for the 8v SRI, but also maybe a 16v depending on the price.
