ill start off with my story and ill make it as short as i can

I went into college today at 11pm done my class then went back to my car at 12 to find loads of glass all over the place which had come from my passanger side window, ok i thought some fuckers a bit jealous and smashed a window, only to find that my head unit had been stolen as well as 20 odd drum and bass CD's, also not only that they also decided to put a big scratch down the side of the door, I kinda thought to myself if i had any enemies that would do this but i dont, i also found it funny in a weird way that my Clifford concept 300 alarm i think it is, didnt go off at all and all the doors were open esp since i armed it so they were locked so thats what happend

now i need your help

im only 18 and have been driving nearly 1 year and paid £1550 for insurance, and my renewal should be coming up soon, i have contacted the police and insurance company, and the police are ment to be coming round tomorrow to look at it and take finger prints etc (like that will help) anyway shall i just claim from the insurance and get my window and head unit which is worth about £200 and remove the scratch AND lose my no claims bonus, or i think this is the best thing to do, which will be to go out and fix the window and get a new headset myself and leave the scratch and then keep my no claims bonus for my first year as im told it can go down quite a bit with no claims bonus

any advice???

thanks

Ok well probably looking at about £300 damage if you do it on the cheap - fix yourself and leave ins and NCB - Harsh it is but will be worth the saving after 1st years NCB.

Was there more than one beep when you disarmed it? There should be, if not, then someone is either very good at disarming car alarms, or has a copy of your remote fob etc...

i didnt need to disarm it :/ it was already open and disarmed when i got to it, and im pretty sure no one has another key fob, and when i locked it it was the normal two beeps also with my car in the garage atm with no window, the alarm isnt sounding or anything, my motion sensors in the car must be broke or something cos they normally go off even if u walk past the glass near it :/

Unless you got a special deal, the Clifford warranty for claiming if the car is broken into only covers the original purchaser of the alarm-system. From what I understand, that warranty doesn't extend to the next owner of the car...
