Desperately need new tyres-- the cooper s has those bloody run-flat heavy hard bastard tyres on it and they are getting on my nerves.......

Went in a demo cooper s that had yokos on it and the ride was smoother and much more grip.

What do you recommend.....and roughly how much do you reckon it will cost- 17"
wheels, no spare

Those run flats are a twat Ride is far too harsh, especially with the sports susp plus and the 17s. I know how you feel.

They are indeed a twat--- and a bumpy one at that..........fuk knows why bmw doesnt give the option to have the 17" wheels without runflats-------surely it would have improved ride and grip making the car easier to sell

I use Bridgestone Potenza S0-3 - very good in dry/wet on the Evo and I'm not shy with the right foot either.

Goodyear EAGLE F1 GS-D3. Just had them put on my Cup in 16'. Cost me approx £80 a piece. The best tyres I've ever had.

I found these to wear very quick also, and they were poor in the wet.

Avon ZV3s were very good in the wet and are a bit cheaper than Toyo's/Yokohama's etc as they're not branded as Avons top of the range tyre (ZZ3).

For wet roads, you should be looking more towards Michelin - forget all the Max Power tyres.

Pirelli PZero Neros on my Golf. Excellent in the wet (Pirelli make that a priority in the Zero range) quite good for wear (over 20k so far, loads left) but a bit pricey.
You get what you pay for, so why save a ton per set and get second best?

Tony
