Was in 2nd gear, it came on boost.... then bang! Was stuck one an unphill one way street. Had to stop traffic and roll back down, what a nightmare! Mate in his RX7 towed me home, quite a sight!

They were uprated ones, ment to be pritty tough! Rang Cossvaux and straight away hes doing me a pair for nothing as he has some stronger ones now. Nice one!

Get my spanners out after work and swap them over!

Yep, shaft has well and truely snapped (and twisted). I'll take a piccy on my phone and post it up later! Its the shorter one to the passenger side.

Lifetime Guarentee on the shafts, so everytime they break I'll just need to swap them, can't say fairer than that! This shaft has lasted since April-ish (but it's not been on the road all the time!), hopefully these stronger ones will stand the test of time (and power) a bit better!

Deffo top job Cossvaux!

Replacements are free as long as they keep breaking, so I'm not complaining!

I'm pritty confident the new ones will be spot on, they are slightly thicker and have been heat treated in a different way.

C20LET, plenty of mods.... on spec should be 320bhp-ish, weather it is I don't know (or care lol). When it was raining my mate took it out and was amazed how easy it span in sixth. Even on a bone dry day if you spoon it down it will spin to about 6500 revs in 3rd before truely gripping. Obviously a competant driver can get it gripping in 2nd with sensable application of the throttle.

Bigger injectors and more boost when this is fixed, should keep me happy for now.

Mine deffo does not run silly revs, doesn't get upto 8k.

Its a bit hairly when it spins in 6th, as obviously your going some speed, and it drifts you over the road (usually to the left as one shaft is shorter).

No LSD planned, you can adapt your driving style to get around the spin, you just need to be sensible!

Quite easy to do to be honest, just blip the throttle when lifting away.
If an LSD could talk and every c20let owner in the country had this talking LSD for a while, it would come away everytime and say ' Chuffin hell, I've got an easy life, when do I get the hard jobs? '

FlamingCorsa, I'll swap cars with ya then LOL

Venom is right about the LSD, seems a proper waste of money to me. I know the first way to improve my traction is to get a decent suspention setup. The difference between my car and the Nova van running slightly less (but weighs less so we the same) is a lot, that grips much easier, only difference is 205 instead of 195 tyres and much better suspention.

I'd only ever want a diff (and it'd be a mad plated one, not a quaife one) if I took 1/4 miling seriously, I'd deffo be looking 12's... but it doesn't interest me at the moment!
