you could get a 106 gti for that kind of money, not the most realiable, but great to drive and very cheap to run.

just had a quote on an old school e30 bmw 325i sport, only another £577 on top of my 1.2 8v policy!!! so am gonna look for a mint one of them, preferably with M3 kit on, absolute mint condition and low(ish) miles.
