Just looking at a private plate. Found this one at an attractive price, few cleaverly placed screw head caps and we're away but do you think i'd be asking for it....

Okay suppose its worth asking general public as thats what a private plate's for really. Would TDM look far from TOM as all the TOM plates are a grand

Dont think i'd ever put silly money into a plate, although the good ones shouldnt depreciate in value, although they prob will as the older style plates are wiped out with age.

bloke near me owns the first 2 numberplates ever issued in Essex.
been offered more than a million for one of em, but refused it

First two numberplates issued? What do they say? I do find it hard to believe that he hasnt parted with it for 1million, I mean a million for a plate - im sure that would be the most expensive plate in the world. I million buys you a house, a fecking nice house....

he has two identical cars, one plate on each... the 1F doesn't get as much publicity as the F1 plate.

I bought a plate of a 1960 Norton motorcycle for £795 in 1996 and I was offered £3510 for it by newreg last year, and they'd offer it for sale at £4200. Decent old style reg plates should never de-value, especially as the new style ones don't look anywhere near as good.
