held speed at 50mph then planted foot (starting stopwatch at same time) then stopped timing once it hit 70mph.

Mine in third (3900rpm 50mph to 5500rpm 70mph) is around a second, not tried accuratly timing it mind!

I will too...I predict it may be slow as my car is only idling about 2200rpm at 50 in 5th...

50mph in 5th in mine is like 1900revs

But anyway, note people, that if u do try this, u must be stable at 50mph, ie: wait a second, then accelerate. Its not about pulling right the way thru this range!

@ 1second. Or do u have a formula 1 car?
