A Ferrari 360 Spider
Was in Watford in my mates M3 when around the corner comes this guy in a ferrari 360 Modena Spider thingymajigger.
He sees us with the roof down and comes flying up behind us, V8 engine at full chat, and when I turn around he just smiled and gave a little blip of the throttle.
Lights go green we lead him out through heavy traffic onto the dual carriageways out of Watford
Now I was expecting this thing to absolutely smoke my friends bimmer, and admittedly around the roundabouts he had the edge, but on the straights through 3rd and a bit of 4th (to around 130mph!) we were actually gaining on a 390bhp ferrari made totally out of Aluminium.....
when we turned onto the M1 he gave a thumbs up, and roared off.
All I can think of is this dude just couldnt drive his finger up his nose!
He simply cant of been flooring it in the right gear cos that V8 was roaring!
sorry for the boyracer type essay but this race will stick in my head for a long while

Then why could we hear the engine note over the top of ours,
and why did the guy take it all the way to 130ish on dual carriageways,
and why give a after?
Nah, Im convinced the guy was either a poor driver, or just wasnt taking his rari to the redline. I can assure you he was trying though whatever gear it was in

CSL is shit fast... id say faster than a 360... it has a cardboard boot floor ffs
Saw one the other day... the exhaust roar is out of this world... not quite as good as the scream of a Ferrari but still

you have to sign a disclaimer saying something like if you wrap it up in the wet it aint the tyres fault
think the tyres are unique to the CSL!

The tyre are racing tyres, that aren't for road use. You can get them with just normal road tyres, but the one at coombe was on a racing set.

Taken from bmw.co.uk
quote: Contributing to the BMW M3 CSL’s dynamic handling characteristics are the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tyres, only available on this model, these tyres feature asymmetric treads that were specially developed for the car. Measuring 235/35 ZR19 on the front and 265/30 ZR19 on the rear, the tyres help the car deliver up to 1.6g of lateral grip, but even in these situations the driver will be held firmly in their 'bucket' style racing seats.
