How does swapping your engine effect for exaple the log book and registration details of the car? what exactly do u hav to do to make it all completely legal?

and also how is it registered on your insurance? is it classed as a bloody big engine mod or is it car classed as the same as the engine in it? i just dont understand it?

if u get an engine change u have to declare the engine size and wot they sometimes do is class the car with new engine the same as the donor, so ur looking at group 14/15 for a 2.0 16v
u also need to inform DVLA to change the V5 form but i aint bothered telling DVLA, oops

im thinkin of transplantin a 1.6 16v sport so u reckon the car will then b classed as the same insurance group as a 1.6 sport?

yup. i had a 2.0 16v in ma nova
but i had it insured as a 1.2

so this is what i dont understand u had a 2 litre but it was insured as a 1.2 did u just not declare it or sumthin?

If u had it insured as a 1.2 u had no insurance.
Just found my V5, its on the blue bit, section E. Engine no and cylinder capacity. I need to update the seating capacity as well, according to my V5 i have a corsa vegas 3dr saloon

well i suppose i never. But i was 18 at the time. no way was i paying silly money
cops stopped me one. checked over the car and thought the nova came with the engine as standard. they thought it was a 1.6.
i was bricking it.

nah, that nova was a 1.6 shell. it was ma other nova that had the 1.2
ive had 3 nova 2 litres.
