i think the gti is 4 stud, only the vr6 are 5 stud. Get some 16inch dishy alloys, they look miles better. Get either The Golf Magazine or Performance VW, there are loads of ads in there for styling bits.

i said do it as a gti as she is keeping it for a year and then dropping a new engine in it

she dosnt want any other car except the gti in black with yellow leather. what other differences are there inbetween the gti and the 1.4? rear disks etc??

tbh, it will be more cost effective to leave the 1.4 alone and then get a gti when she can afford it, you can pickup a mint 93/94 for 2-2.5k. Although engine swaps are very much cheaper to do on a VW, you can get a 1998 2.0 16v passat engine for 300 quid and it just blots straight in, but then you need to get all the styling bits as well. Gti's do have rear discs as well. Club Gti are really helpfull, just dont tell them you drive a corsa

she wants/needs 17s as she lives on a farm cottage and its an absolutle shite track to get down. she wants it down 40mm too, so will have to be on 17s trust me. she dont like euro

supose she could always do this up, then swap the bits over to the gti

could do it all besides rear disk (leave it off) and make a pretty good rep

she wont leave it std for a year untill she gets the gti, belive me!!

cant register on club gti - wont let me authorize registration - bollox

mk3 gti's are 5-stud and have rear disc's

mk3's are v.hard to mod, exterior wise, not much in the way of kits

personally i think a nice set of 17's lowered, with say a set of quad lights & a bonrath grille and it'll look sweet

mk3's dont suit euro look imo

there are tonnes of mk3's here

if it aint colour coded then get a hold of the GTi bumpers, and stick a VR6 chin spoiler on bottom of it, you can pick these up dirt cheap new on GSF
