I've read lots of posts with 18 year olds saying they can get fully comp for just over a grand and prices like this. I'm 18 and in Glasgow. Cheapest quote i get is over 3 and a half grand. Even with dad as first driver the cheapest i get is roundabout a grand. Does anyone know what companies don't use postcodes for the quotes or even better anybody in Glasgow that is in the same situation and knows where to go?

every insurance company uses post codes

Glasgow post codes are rated as follows:-

G Glasgow
1-5, 11, 13-15, 20-23, 31-34, 40-42, 51, 53 Refer
12, 43-46, 66, 69, 71-78, 81 . . . . . . . . . . . . E *
60-62, 64, 67-68, 82 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . D*
52, 63, 83-84 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . B
65 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . C

C being the lowest risk
E being highest
the * means it must be garaged
Refer means your fuked basically!

I'm in the fucked bracket. They don't but. Obviously they need your postcode but they don't all base the quote on that. The bad thing is where i am the street next to me is B. Now that annoys me. As much chance of theirs gettin nicked as mine.

its on postcode, age of driver(s), car ins group, NCB, mileage per year, car usage

there is so many factors but Post Code is the biggy
