just as long as it takes to change any discs etc. a mechanic could do it in an hour or so

doesnt have to be a mechanic, i could do it in about 30-45 mins. get yourself a corsa haynes maxing manual and learn how to do stuff, it shouldnt take u longer than 2 hours if you havent done it before. its very simple. only thing you will need as a special tool is a set of brake hose clamps.

take off alloy
remove 2x 10mm allen bolts on standard calipers and 13mm bolt for the brake pipe
philips screw from the disc and remove all

fit these in reverse order, no extra work needed, str8 bolt on swap

you dont need hose clamps!

It will be a lot easier if you have the right alan key socket and a breaker bar cause those bolts are tight.

It will take about 15 more than changing disks and pads.

There is a guide for it on topbuzz. Its on a nova but I imagin they are the same

you do need hose clamps if your changing the calipers like he wants too

will 284mm brakes fit behind 14's??? I thought the minimum was 15's?? I have standard discs which are 255mm and the caliper is about a couple of mm's away from the edge of the standard sport alloys.

Off with the wheel...has to be 14" or bigger,
turn the steering full lock so the caliper is furthest out,
remove the caliper retaining spring (its the metal bit that goes over the outside caliper
take off the two caps over the caliper retaining bolts
take those out with an allen key
take off the hose assembly bolt from the caliper but make sure the cap is on the resivoir or it will piss brake fluid all over the place, if possible clamp the hose and tie it up somewhere (ideal time to put some new metal ones on)
remove the caliper and pads
using the longest bar and as many swear words as possible undo the two bolts holding the caliper mount to the vehicle (they got that nutlock shite on them so you gotta replce them or get some of the stuff from somewhere when you put them back.)
there you go a bear brake disk ready for ripping off
just pop out the posidrive screw holding it to the hub.
give everything a thourough clean before you put on your new v6 disks or they might go on slightly skewed and you will get vibrations when you hit the stop pedal.
fitting the v6 calipers and discs it the exact opposite of takin off the old ones.
make sure you bleed the air out of your new calipers. good luck!!

cav GSI are 256mm minimum of 14" wheel, V6 are 284 and minimum 15" wheel

Id renew the copper washers at least either side of the banjo fitting onto the caliper. Also grease the sliders on the caliper and use copper grease on the back of the pads to stop squealing.
Also youll need some threadlock, I just got new bolts with threadlock applied, about a quid each

They should look like this once on

You don't need hose clamps if you put a bit of non-breathable plastic under the brake fluid header tank cap -- the vacuum will keep the fluid from dripping out...
