I knew it would split into two, but what I was thinking is if somebody rear ends you really hard then isn't there a chance that the MDF will propell itself into the front of the car or squash people or something?

I'd like to get a false floor if I ever buy an amp - so you can still get to the spare etc.

Not planning on crashing! Just wondering - and if somebody smashes into the back of you then there's not much that you can do.

This would be suited to the ICE forum, but are the big Infinity amps (4 channel) any good?

I originally took out the rear seats, had a sub box at the back and the two amps sunken into the false floor where the bench would have sat.

The sub box was bolted to the false floor which was bolted thru the bodywork. The amp rack was restrained by thick copper cabling thru eye loops screwed into the rear safety belt points.

Now that's all gone for the sake of weightsaving and I've made a false floor from cardboard covered with material and a single amp remains to power the front comps. It weighs nothing and looks smart which is all I wanted
