ok seen as everyone is telling you other stuff.......... first of all what engine is it? if it is the sport engine then it's possible either your idle control valve or your EGR valve simply because what you have described sounds exactly the same as what happened to me and i can tell you now that Vauxhall will charge you a fortune to fix it . If you find that this is the problem give me a u2u and ill give you a contact number of a garage that will sort it for a third of the price and yeah i am moving this into the help zone mate sorry

ur in scotland - hes in essex - dont think the contact number will be much use as he will have to kangaroo a bloody long way

yeah mate but if you are gona pay £600 to have teh work i had done for £150 then the petrol money and travel are worth it if you ask me

i just called a place in southend who are going to look at it for £30 and see what prob is and hopefully do it.

Only thing is i dont think my car will make it that far !!

How much is a new ECU gonna be if so or how much is a new sensor ??

Dav had the same problem to you. He took to a garage and got told it was the airflow meter. He got one for £70, fitted it himself and his car seems fine now.

Well an update !

I just cleaned all my parts, all the spark plugs and changed my drive belt and it seems ok !!

Went for a 5 min drive around the block and the engine mangment light didnt come on !!

Ill see what happens later tonight.

wen m ine came on it woz the idle control valve it flickered wen u brake etc
