Finally heard from the solicitor this afternoon to say we've exchanged contracts and that we are completing tomorrow, so booked a half day with work and agreed to work from home in the morning.

Plans for the weekend are to get the feature walls stripped and wallpaper with the stuff the Mrs has been collecting over the last few months, gives the carpets a clean and then finally start moving furniture in!
