Very refined. The power is relentless and the way the gearbox is it's seemless. Very strange to me having had manuals all my driving life.

I'm not sure if the gearbox needs mapped to suit the engine tho as there's a noticeable pause from 1st into 2nd when launching hard. It's as if the engine revs are to quick rising and the box can't quite keep up. From 2nd onwards the changes are seemless as they should be. Also when I just drive about normally the 1st to 2nd change is the way it should be which leads me to think I need it mapped to suit the engine rise in power.

Our dsg changes gear very quickly, but you do lose the smoothness when pulling away when they're mapped. Something to do with the clutch bite, God knows lol

I have noticed this. There's that many places doing maps now tho it's finding the right one. Mrc seem like the place to go.
