Can someone help I have a kindle fire had and it's not being recognised by calibre preventing me from putting some books on it. Anyone any idea what's need to do running windows 7.... I think

Make sure you've got the latest Calibre software and are using Windows 7 or later (and make sure that's up to date with the latest drivers and patches via Windows Update too). It will not work with XP whatever you do.

Make sure your device is unlocked when you connect it to your PC if you have a passcode on it.

In Calibre, go to Preferences->Ignored Devices and check that your device is not being ignored.
