Couple of dumbass questions!

Does the router simply plug into a phone socket then its just wifi but minus the filters?

Does it matter which socket is used to run it?

Is 20g limit too little for an online gamer/downloader/lovefilm user?

Does the BT sport come out of the download limit or is it unlimited data "out of the usage allowance"?

Thanks

They put in another socket iirc. I wouldn't want to be capped at 20GB with a rapid connection lol Hope you don't use torrents either.

20GB will be too little if you are downloading and lovefilming.

They fit a built in filter to the master socket, from there they plug a white box in and then your homehub into the white box.

The 'white box' is a VDSL2 modem (made by Huawei i believe)[/justforinfo]

mattievRS - BT Sports doesn't affect usage. As others have said, 20GB is pretty low if you plan to stream films/download; 20GB is ideal for light browsing tbh (it's roughly 5/600MB a day).

If you get a Homehub 5, you don't even need the white box (VDSL modem)

I dont know why BT even offers a package with a download limit on such a fast connection, must be looking to make a few extra £££ charging people when they inevitably go over!

We (2 of us) use at least 20gb on 4mbps, thats with general browsing, iplayer/itvplayer/whateverplayer, app downloads etc

Yep! Much nicer without the modem, it has the same body as a Hub 4 too

My new HH5 is arriving on Wednesday

Original contract finished so went for a new 12 month contract which doubles my line speed to 80mb, lands new a new HH5 and drops my monthly cost down to £26

Went with the infinity 2 with bt sport free. They wanted to rip me £10 a month for you view subscription but I said no. I now realise I can only watch bt sport online through an app. Can I bag a you view player off ebay and use that to stream to my tv rather than online?
