Does anyone on here do this?

I've just been to a free session and to say I'm now knackered is an understatement. Legs are like jelly. I go to the gym so before I went I was thinking I would have the stamina to do it. Watching people when I got there I was starting to feel it for them.

He had us do 1000m warm up on rowing machine. I maybe shouldn't have gone for my usual time!

We did -

25 squats
20 sit-ups but feet together and arms outstretched and lay flat out
10 hand up press ups - Press up, lay chest down hands ups then another press up
10 box jumps on 24" high box

I managed 4 sets out of the 5 in the time allocated.

Going to go again, this session was free but going by their website its a bit steep!

I've tried the one in Carlisle, was hard work indeed. Different actions to lifting weights in a gym as I thought I'd manage it ok as well was quite shocked. Definitely something I'd do if I didn't already pay a gym membership!

I'm either thinking maybe go do this once a week alongside the gym, or go a couple more times then do this at the gym. There is only the box jump I might find difficult replicating there.

If it's like the one here the programme changes every time, completely different stuff aparrantly, with in reason obviously. We had to do sprints at the end running, rest on the clock then set back off for next sprint on the clock. Then they did squats to finish. Ideal for getting fit, and personally I prefer a programme I have to follow rather than kind of making up whatever at the gym each night.

Couple mates at work go to the one in Derby. They love it, hard work but a good workout. Seems really sociable and friendly too.

People said hello when we arrived and a lass we went with said she had met quite a few people since going. Seems a totally different crowd to gym goers.

People are definitely friendlier and more social than in my gym. Although like me in the gym I just put headphones in and do what I'm doing. Also the person taking the class was full of encouragement for me and the other woman who hadn't been before.

Anything that encourages and motivates people to get in shape is a good thing IMO

I was considering joining my local one just so I can use their lifting platforms and bumper plates. It's like £40 a month though.

I've done this on and off for 4 years. Without doubt the most effective way to improve GPP when done properly.

Glad to see it's getting some mainstream traction
