black edition provides good value when you look at the options that are inlcuded - especially if you price them seperately

Its just a case of whether you like the wheels and black grills above a standard S line

I thought that too but Ash on the last page thinks they aren't good value though for some reason!

My Dad has an A3 Black Edition, in Red. Does look nice.

So you get a sound system, parking sensors and a bit of black paint.

99% of the other stuff on the list above you'd expect as standard anyway.

And Xenon headlights.

If you add those options to a normal S-line it works out more expensive than getting a Black Edition hence it being good value!

you get xenons as standard on slines

But still good value as its 535 for the B&O and 635 for the wheels so that 1170 before others

So its good avlue if you want those options

You didn't get Xenon headlights standard on S-lines about 18 months ago when my Dad bought his and I was looking at them, they must have increased the standard spec since then. But yeah still better value than buying an S-line and adding the options to that.

Just realised I think you might be talking about the A4 here, I'm talking about the A3.

Yes no one is saying you dont

But you state its not worth the extra but when you look at the options included then it is

Whether you think you need or can justify the extra options is not the debate here

But you don't get £1170 'extra' worth of kit as the standard S-line wheels and stereo(especially if Bose) will be worth quite a bit anyway.

As mention trying to keep on top of Audi trim levels is difficult.

Someone do a standard S-line vs Black full spec list comparison including list price

but the B&O is extra - standard stuff is not Bose

So if you get a standard Sline and then decide you want the 5 arm 19's and B&O plus media centre you talking over £1600 (i.e you do not get media centre, standard wheel aare 18's etc)

Therefore for an extra 1200 you can have all that plus the black grills and trim and additonal parking assistance

That to me is good value surely

because the new one has just come out

Black editions normally follow 2 years after release

The 170 derv will come later as well

Well why drop it in the first place as that was available across the range? Though they have hiked the 140 to 150 so maybe that's it, one model or wishful thinking that they release a 180 model

The 10 speaker B&O system is worth it alone. It's fucking amazing.

The new A3 is having all new engines apparently - the current range of engines is pretty dull for it. However its normally like that with any new model
