yea me car failed. high emissions cos the exhausts "blowin".
gotta take the manifold off and do something to the gasket, the bloke thinks. didn't seem that bright. said that the reflectors had to go on the lights! wouldn't have ne of me correctin him!

an exhaust blowing wouldnt normally give high emissions unless it is blowing into the engine bay in which case thats illegal. By the sounds of it he wants you to replace the exhaust manifold gasket - not that big a job and wont cost much.

i dont think they have to be on the lights, according to my contacts, but most standard cars come with the reflectors built into the rears.

yea it was blowin into the engine bay. thank god its not a big job in your opinion i was shittin myself bout a big bill. well the instructions with the lites say nothin bout fittin the reflectors to the lites. they just need to b on the car!

it will depend on how cheap a gasket you can find. I dont know if you have them where you live but try eurocarparts, i find them to be very reasonable. I guess an alternative would be to try some gasket sealer, or to try tightening the nuts on the manifold up tighter.

thats what i thought. the reflectors just have to be mounted on the rear, and roughly equidistant from the sides of the car.
