Exactly. If it need's a runway to take off, i'd much rather just drive to the airport where I have my plane waiting...

Isn't this like the 20th flying car that's been made now?

Obviously not going to catch on until you can do a hover conversion from back to the future

the more i think about it, the more i can se it isnt a flying car, but a aircraft that can be used on the road

we you consider the cost of hanger space, this can be £100-600 a month, depending on 1) type/size of aircraft 2) facilities available/size of airfield

if you were a pilot not wanting to be priced out of your hobby this would be ideal, would fit in a garage, and can be driven to an airfield as required.

a brilliant idea, but only when approached from the aero side rather than the auto side

You can buy a pretty damn good light aircraft for about £60k all in and leave it parked up in a farmers field for less than £1k a year though. You've got to do the sums though, usually you need to do over 100hrs a year to make solely owning your own aircraft make financially sensible - you'd normally own a fraction of it.

i can't argue with you, but there will be situations where a pilot will want to keep their craft in a harded harger, worry free, rather than sharing it with the chickens, for a peice of mind this vehicle offers that.

in addtional it offers freedom of airfield, as a pilot you are not tied down to taking off from the same airfield, if the weather, or flight plan determines it is easier to TO elsewhere then this offers that benefit.

it doesnt solve issues, but opens doors to those that may be looking for that door
