Looking into either going down a c20let or z20let route into a corsa b.

I have had a c20let before and know they go in easy enough and easy to get decent power from them

How hard is it to fit/wire in a z20let? is it better being a newer engine? easier to get good power from?

Mounting/fitting the z20let wouldnt be the problem but unsure on the wiring side.

Can i also mount a z20let to an f20/f28?

Only thing I know is its difficult to get around the electronic throttle with the ZLET?

It's definitely the future though.

I wonder if a different TB could be fitted to retain the cable throttle? unsure if the ECU would be able to do that though

I'd imagine the general principals and mounting were simlar but getting around the management and wiring commands would take a bit more time.

Are they a better engine though? easier to get good power from?

C20let is pretty easy to get 260-280bhp from

Chuck mappable tackle at it and fit a cable throttle.

If the two engines were brand new, surely the potential would be the same? They both run KKK's don't they? The internals will be similar, management still meh...gearbox strength the same. They both have 200bhp in standard form. Only difference would be lower emissions? and C20LET's are getting old now so age will be in your favour? I may be wrong but making assumptions..

true.

Only thing i have seen they seem to like eating sensors? not sure if thats internet hype or what.

C20lets do tend to tap like fuck which I dont like, also they are old now.

Both are about the same cost for engine/box etc

HOW MUCH?!

zlet will mount up the same as xe/let so just need front engine mount and rear gearbox spacer, £50 max of ebay, then you know the rest (shafts etc)

Mate fitted an fly by wire vw diesel engine in his mk1 golf,
Did it by mounting the pedal bit that tells the ecu how much you've pressed it (forgot the name) in the engine bay, then put a lever on it, and mounted it so he could have the throttle cable pull the lever and it thinks the pedal has been pressed. Simples.

id prefer to run a c20let over a z20let. c-lets have the forged pistons as standard aswell

also to get similar power out of the 2 you need to upgrade to the vxr turbo aswell to see 280-290 power region. id say power is slightly cheaper and easy to get from a c20let

not fully forged no, just normal rods, but the pistons themselves are forged, where as z-let's aren't
