I've never had a problem with my Astra VXR. Absolutely love it. Great car for longer journeys aswell, so comfy.

Its for sale though, new car coming on Friday.

no problems with my astra vxr either, 06 plate and 60k miles on it

if you know your way around a car then its not going to be all that expensive to fix the few common faults they have which are mainly the diverter valve splitting - £80 for an uprated one, gearbox whining can usualy be fixed with new bearings - £300, turbos arent so much of a common problem but are known to let go so usually around £400

if your going to put it into a garage for these things you can at least double those prices

best advice i can give is pay £12 and join Astra Owners Network and you get a trade club card, i must have saved over £100 just in service parts alone last week, not to mention getting parts cheaper for homers

5L of 5w30, filter and o-ring is about £15 so mine gets it done every 5k

I have a 06 plate on 50k and havent had a problem up untill this week, EML come on due to a Lambda sensor failure. £70 for a genuine bosch part and its fixed.

When test driving one listen out for whines and whurs.

A mate of mine drove one which whined when it went round slow bends like round abouts. 100% sure why but it did it in every gear with clutch in and out. Perhaps just a wheel bearing or possibly the diff!?
