Si is this going through the router, or just a direct connection?

Hmmn, seems odd...

You've disabled any port blocking/firewalling malarky on the router yeah?

It seems like a DNS problem, but not completely because you can get to some sites and not others... Could very well be an ISP DNS issue perhaps? Have you got a modem you can connect up and try that, just to check?

Have you tried going direct to the NTL box, take the router out of the equation?

Well, tis a pain - I'm guessing you've changed the router MAC address to mirror one of the computers? Or you've given NTL the router MAC addy?

Either way, I think it could be worth trying?

Can you do reverse DNS lookups on various web sites?

ping -a ip_address

i reckon u should plug in the PC direct into the NTL box, if this works then its the router. Doing this will save a lot of ballaching about m8
