Decided i gonna learn for myself and have a bash at fitting a smooth boot to start.....

Who has fitted one? You reckon it would be hard to fit it but keeping the wiper and maybe the boot lock?
Any Tips?

You having a laugh????

I can understand keeping the wiper, but c'mon, keeping the boot lock??

However, if thats what you want, then fair enough. Should be east to cut a hole into the panel and smooth round about it.

they are 45 bucks on ebay.
then 10 bucks postage
then vat
so a total of about 65 bucks or so.

And they are suppose to be fitted under your rear window, hoever to get around this small prob, just shave off the lip which should sit under the window.

I'm going to be doing this myself before the weeks out (i think) ready for my respray.

And i'm keeping my wiper. Personally think its quite daft to get rid of something so beneficial as that.

Got to remove the window to fit it as its made. However, as i said, you can shave off that part so taht it sits under the black seal around the window, therefore not having so much bother with smoothening it in.

So basically, as far as i am aware, shave off the lip ( thats if you've got it to begin with) so that the panel will fit onto your boot and under the black window seal ( this can be removed to fit the panel, just pull it).

Well, as i said, i aint done it yet, but from what i've picked up, you can use expanding foam ( you know the stuff you get to put in walls etc). Can get it in halfords, or B&Q, homebase etc..... Its about 5 or 6 bucks a tube.

Has anyone ever experienced cracking with the boot skins?
