Well I might change the case on it, give the drive a but of a clean see how I get on as it hasn't happened again yet. Then when it becomes shite I'll send it to you Brett

But the sale of your xbox plus the £50 you're willing to spend on the case would easily get you a slim

They don't make cases for the slim yet

Are they RROD proof or is it another case of change the packaging but still same junk underneath

The new ones have the fan on top above the GPU, so in theory they are much much better cooling wise now. I don' think any product is fault free and I'm sure some will of had problems, but nothing like the first gen ones.

Main thing for me is the silence. You may think your current xbox isn't too bad and is a level you can live with. I thought that too until I got this slim

I'm sure the cases will become available. I can't imagine there's much of a market whilst everyone's still in warranty.
