Hi All 
 
Once my money from court clears I'm spending it on a dslr. going for alex's d50 I think   
 
Looking for lenses Ive always wanted a 70-300 lense 
 
Is this one any good?

Yes, D50 has a motor in the body and that lens will AF on it.

Try and stretch to the 70-300VR or look at the Sigma 70-300 APO.

You definitely need VR at 300mm tbh. Expensive lens though, Nikkor 70-300mm is about £479 iirc.

 F/4 - 5.6 is the aperture. On that lens when your at 70mm the biggest aperture available will be F4, at 300mm it will be F5.6. 
 
The smaller the number the bigger the aperture and the shallower the depth of field. Also a bigger aperture will let you use a faster shutter speed.
