Looking at getting a 'proper' camera, (and no im not expecting to be a professional) i just want to be able to take some decent pictures of my car and maybe take it up as a hobby, Can't seem to get my head around all the jargon though, can anyone recommend me a good camera to start with, and some tips and tricks

And maybe something to simplyfy (sp) all the jargon

as cheap as possible dont mind saving for a bit but dont want to be spending massive amounts if ya get what i mean?

2nd hand nikon d40 or canon 300d?

get the above for about £150/200

Is the canon 400d a good camera? theres one going on ebay atm stupidly cheap

i got me a 400d (with standard kit lens 18.55) a few weeks back..

im well happy with it, some pictures i have took with it on my thread (mk2 content) a few threads down from this one..

Thanks for that, will keep my eye on it if it stays cheap i shall take the risk and buy it

D40 body onlys are still selling for around £170, so couple that with a kit 18-55VR and you'll have a nice starter kit.

i have spotted a few d40s with kit lens for £150/200 mark (reason me saying that price)

just have to look out for the bargins...
