Yes it is. HDR on photoshop is rubbish though, get yourself a copy of Photomatix

Mike - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging

I've tried it on Photoshop a couple of times, always seems to come out very grey and takes a lot of work to actually put some colour back into it.

Doesn't look at all like an HDR, just looks underexposed.

In fact, if I couldn't see the tread on the tyres, I'd have said it was just a single underexposed shot.

Try and get a shot with more contrast.

ie. a bright sky behind the car.

Better colour-wise, but still doesn't look particularly HDR'd.

Sorry

The steps you've taken are ok I suppose, it's the starting images that aren't quite right.

Did you take (at least) 3 photos, or is that done using a single photo?

Well fuck it then, I don't know

I just know it doesn't look right. Search for will_ainsworths HDRs - they work better (even though I'm not a massive fan of the result).

Second one is better, but doesn't really look HDR. Just looks like the red has been upped a bit

Needs a better scene though imo, probably not the best location to try it tbh.
