I do if I feel safe to, I will read a text but wont usually reply, Ive got handsfree built into my stereo, also use map, blackberry BTW.
I feel pretty safe doing that, the missus however is dangerous even reading a text which annoys me, who says women can multitask.

This annoys me so much. You're still holding the phone, may as well hold it to your head as hold it in front of your face.

I think people who do think they're they're driving hands-free.

I used to take call & text people [without having to look at the phone] whilst driving but not done it since new year's eve 2008

I can't believe people use the internet whilst driving that must be well dangerous

I've got the cd70 navi with Bluetooth once you get used to it I think it's a great bit of kit and has certainly solved my hands free problem. My fave feature is when your low on fuel it asks if you want to be taken to the nearest petrol station

So that solves the calls and maps problem as for texting just move to Norfolk you never get signal to send any anyway

I got a Nokia 5800 (touchscreen thing) I CBA texting/calling on that whilst driving because there are no "buttons" to feel while you're typing so I'd have to constantly look at my phone to see what was typed in = me crashing

I have a parrot fitted to the pickup. You can dial numbers through it but it is far more dangerous trying to turn the dial than picking the phone up to dial

is very handy as dont like driving whilst on the phone for fear of points

dont see much difference to talking through handsfree to just holding it really.

Is no different to talking to your passengers or adjusting your radio really
