No they werent - there are specific craters, craters that have been traced to times after any major collision that have these "stress lines" running out from them.

Could it not be large pieces of asteroid that had been shattered by the force of it hitting the ground, "skimming" the surface, and so leaving the big lines. Suppose that wouldnt explain why there so long though, although, there is less gravity, so they would travel further than if it happened on earth.

The surface isnt level though - and with there being little gravity - one bounce and it would spin off the surface - at high velocity it wouldnt follow the curvature of the surface.. not for a few 1000km's.
