Gen vaux ones are a bitch Ive just done 4 on my car.

The hammering on a slightly smaller socket doesnt work due to the free spinning outer ring.

What I did was to weld the ring on then hammer and locking wheel nut removal socket on job done.

Ive never had any luck with welding on a nut and vau said they only have keys for current models

just drill the heads off the bolts. it's easy to do at home.

Surely you can hammer and screw driver the collars off and then use a socket?

A friend of mine done the same and they removed all 4 of his when he bought a new set from them, they charged no labour just about 30 quid for a new set of nuts
