my head Gasket is on its way out. im get a head Gasket set but is there anythink else i should get and will i need the head skimmed? the engine is a c14se

Might as well get a timing belt and waterpump kit when it's apart.

Im currently doing my headgasket and im going to change the cambelt just so i know its been done. and according to the vauxhall mechanic who had a propper look at my head he says it didnt need skimming but yours may be in worse condition than mine

If the head gasket hasn't actually went yet, I can't imagine it'll need skimming?

Even if the H/G has went it might still not need a skim.Seen plenty go and not need skimmed.

Tell tale sign is mayo under the oil cap, and shed loads of it. Also, no hot air coming through the heaters and using a fair bit of water.

Don't be fooled by winter weather though. You'll have what looks like mayo under the cap but it'll just be condensation.

if it hasnt been changed in a while then it will be dirty. it will also look a rusty colour if its got red halfords coolant in it

it was empty yeterday and i just topped it up with water and it looked a browny colour the thing is my car isnt been driven as i havnt passed yet
