I am proud the proud owner of a C20XE corsa and have spent alot of time and money converting the car to a high standard. Unfortunatly i have to swallow my pride and admit that it was not a good idea to do so in more ways than 1.
The main thing that has made this such a dissapointment was the fact that i stupidly thought that insuring a 2 litre corsa would be much and such the same as say an astra GSI which i found quite reasonable to insure, but that was not the case, Adrian Flux, Brentacre they all laughed at me wanting to insure the car and only being 18. So project down the drain, sell it on to someone else without even driving it myself? Well hopefully not, i turn 19 in June and will then have 2 years N.C.B. Is there a possibilty that it will become affordable then? Would really love to keep the car but my runabouts MOT runs out in june and i don't think it will pass another so would need to ither run the 2 litre if possible?? Or sell it on...
Just as a rough guide (seen as everyone is different when it comes to insurance,) what are you lot paying for a 2 litre corsa conversion?
Cheers for any replys in advanced!

One i insured at 18, for £1050. This was with eCar, who I think are nothern rock?
Another I didn't bother to change over from a 1.6 and only kept a month. (Naughty Naughty)
Another one was £800 when I was 20, with 3 NCB, This was with Adriun Flux.
Try eCar & Adriun Flux.
I'm not sure why Bretacre laughed at you, as there's a few 18 year olds on here with redtops and their insurance with them?

I insured mine at 19 with 2 years NCB. It was about a grand iirc, and was with Brentacre. They were fantastic when I had the Corsa.
I always dealt with Gary when sorting the insurance through Brentacre.

Mine was £1k ish when I was 21 with Greenlight, all mods declared and 4yrs no claims. It was around £1400 when I first phoned up but the added my dad to the policy (I was the policy holder but my dad was the second driver on the policy- although he never knew this) and brought it down significantly.
Also, joining a car club and telling insurance companies that you are a member of a car club will get you a small discount.
Useful numbers:
-Greenlight 01277 263030
-Brentacre 01792 650933
-Boncaster 01277 206769

Thanks everyone for the replies!
Think ill still shop around, i phoned Arian Flux last night and they said because i was 18 they couldn't find any quotes for me so ill have another go at brentacre and try greenlight aswell!
But if all else fails ill just keep the car and wait till im 19 with 2 N.C.B and hopefully it shouldn't be much over a grand. I didn't understand why they won't insure me though as i drive another car regularly, only use the 2 litre for about 8-10,000 miles a year, im an engineer for an oil company and i live in the lowest risk postcode area....
But cheers for the replys!
