I only do a few hundred miles a month but bought a 1.9 CDTI 150PS SRI Astra... not just because it does good MPG..but because it's a superb engine.

I bought a diesel cos its the fastest thing I can insure resonably. Most insurers won't touch me on anything with the 20VT engine, but are cheap with the PD130's!

I bought a Diesel because it out-torqued the Petrol equivalent.

And just because I could.

Economy wasn't even a factor in my choice - economy concerns are for homos
