its not quite as simple as that Col. Need to unlock the equity in the car as im potentially helping my parents business out and paying off some debts.
I could buy another, but id rather just be certain of no crazy outgoings in near future untill work picks up and things settle.
I may keep it and just carry on as you say its all out the way.
But i need to be realistic. So no Evo's Danny

Jambo you clearly love the missus's clio so I think you'd like a 172/182. Market is flooded with them so go see a few and see how you feel.
I've had mine for 2 years and covered 44k in it during that time.
I've never found mine boring nor has anything gone wrong with it. The only mistake I made was taking the cat out which makes it really droney.
Seriving is a tad high but you can often cut that down by using specialists etc
My advice (if you like them) would be buy a 182 FF with cup packs its better value than the Trophy and you wont be left with a huge bill for the Sach's rebuild. Also find one that has fully stamped up history and been cherished.
You are more than welcome to take the keys of mine and decide for yourself
Eibachs
Milktek
RS tuner map
it'll be plenty of fun IMO
Alternatively Lupo GTi's are good but since driving one last week it just lacks any punch IMO
Fiesta ST's are limp unless fettled with either.

Lupo GTi is a good shout, need one with the 6 speed box though. I reckon a few choice mods it could be as fast as a FF 172

I looked into the tuning of Lupos and its mega bucks. Gains are not even that good with cams and maps.
Where as just spending £500 on mine has made it noticably quicker. (and louder )

ok you all keep mentioning FF, what does that mean? Is a cup pack like on the 197/200 with stiffer chassis from the cup added to the normal one?
Lupo too old and expensive for an old car but they do look great.
fiestas are cool mate has one seemed nippy and really well made. Ride was far too harsh tho.
Shame you live so far away

Full fat mean:
Climate
Cruise
Half leather
Auto lights
Xenons
Cup pack means
Front spliter
Cup spoiler
10mm lower suspension and 60mm hub spacing
Anthracite wheels
Michelin Exalto tyres
So with a 182 full fat with cup packs you get all of the above

lol
right a full fat is a normal 182, ie xenons, half leather etc but with both cup packs
one is the suspension pack the other being the spoiler pack
and normal 182 will have all the extra minus the cup packs
a 182 cup has both packs but is the light weight version with gay seats no xenon and a few less toys
oh and if the wheels are silver then it doesnt have the suspension pack if there grey then it does

I personally really like the clio's
They are the kind of car that you have to work to have fun in but are very rewarding once you have
Sure I cant get you to consider an integra or civic though
My VTS is the most fun car I have owned and the clio is just a better built, modern toyed up version

i quite liked my friends 172 cup, once you got passed the very un sporty interior it was a decent little car, quick enough and handled very well.
once messed about with they can be seriously quick too, theres a local one to me that had been stripped etc looking abit 'track day ready' shall we say and was rather noisy. it gave me a VERY hard time in my e46 330ci and i had just had a play with a LCR that was level all the way so i know my car is fine
quick and fairly fun in standard form but dont expect any wow factor from its looks inside and out(could be a good thing) however start fettling with the engine, stripping it out etc and you could have a real b road blaster that will piss off much more expensive cars
