But I think the reason they can get away with it is the lease purchase market.

It is but some people just look at a car they like and buy that. A friend of mine said he would buy a mk5 Gti if he won millions on the lottery as he just hasn't got a clue and he knows he likes the look of them.

He is a lawyer so will probably own his dream car and will be made up with it.

Top tip, you can get a Porsche Cayman for less than a Golf. But then as Joe says, some people may just want a shit hot Golf...

I would point them in the direct of a Mk2 16v if someone wanted a good Golf.
