It will be louder with a decat, no if buts or maybes.

My old man has just removed the decat fromhis 160 BHP Metro as it sounded WANK without a cat, it sounded like a scally car.

Mine sounded awful when i first fit it, i then added a gasket and its made it sound a bit better... i think it might be leaking air at the sleeve between the decat and the middle box... ill check it 2mrw, just wanted to know if others were the same.

A decat should just make it louder/deeper. Its the rest of the exhaust makes it raspy for example

I'd say it depended on the backbox and silencers after the de-cat tbh, but removing the cat will indefinitely make your car louder.

mine sounds like death at full chat,then pops and bangs like mad on over run.suppose it depends on the rest of the sytem too tbh.if you have a std system then decat it,its probably going to sound crap.
