Ive posted pics of this before, and seen vids but never this documentry
its in 5 parts
http://www.nzonscreen.com/title/britten-backyard-visionary-1993
its about the legendry John Britten and him building and taking on the world with his home built bike that turned on its head the way performance bikes were built
my favorite bit is in part 3 iirc "So your telling me you cast the engine yourself"
for the sad members like myself it really is very intresting

I remember watching an On Bike TT video and this being one of the bikes strapped with a camara. Sounded immense.
IIrc it had a lot of success in the states at the Daytona 200

I remember my old man going on about this bike, how amazing it was etc.. But I was in my early teens and didn't pay much interest.
Now im old like he was/is I appreciate the finer things. Having watched this now shows what that bike and that man gave to motorcycling. Carbon wheels, carbon front end, hub central stearing, carbon bodywork, lightweight home made engine.
I knew it was special back then, but never knew HOW special it was.
Ironic how the bits that failed were not home made either.
Still, it was epic, but no wonder it oblitorated the poor Ducati 888's (888cc) down the straight with over 1100cc. Even Ducati themselves, and KTM are only just getting passed that stage of cc, but thats mainly down to WSB rules.
Amazing creation, and simply stunning to look at.
cheers JR, superb find!!!!!!
